Double Jeopardy
The price of being a woman.
Often times governments choose to step in to provide equity for vulnerable individuals. Usually governments choose to redistribute wealth from the more priviledged towards the less.
When it comes to women, they have failed on both fronts. The nature of being a woman means they need to spend much more than men on daily necessities and have to deal with earning less disposable income. In addition, they earn a lesser total income as well, though this gap is smaller than many initially think.
When faced with woes like biological hardships, should governments step in and provide free amenities targeted towards women? Would it be better to provide stipends that help women buy their product of choice or give them out on a request basis at their local healthcare provider. Such solutions all come with tradeoffs.
