As June rolled around this year, Thailand decided to put its foot down in a long standing debate, whether or not to legalize cannabis, also known as weed, ganja or the devil's lettuce.

Citizens were quick to capitalize, electing to begin Food and Beverage business focused on selling the drug or its derived products in the form of cookies, smoothies or simply deep fried.

It has created a boon for its economy, attracting those who wish to visit Asia and try it for themselves.

However, as Singapore's government was quick to point out; consumption of drugs overseas is illegal under Singapore Statutes, and if individuals are found guilty they will be punished accordingly. National swimmers Joseph Schooling and Amanda Tan had to find this out the hard way.

Setting aside the legality, it is always important to arm ourselves with the knowledge and history of a substance.
